Youtube to use Lord of the Rings video improvement Technology

Youtube is now going to use the video quality improvement technology used in Lord of the Rings, X-Men, Spider-Man etc. to sharpen the image, reduce visual noise and render higher-quality, steadier videos on their website.

Youtube announced the acquisition of Green Parrot Pictures, a Irish digital video technology company founded by Associate Professor Anil Kokaram at the Engineering School of Trinity College based in Dublin on March 15, 2011.YouTube says the 6 year old company has built "cutting-edge video quality improvement technology that helps make videos look better while at the same time using less bandwidth and improving playback speed."
